Migrating icCube : 4.0.1 to 4.1

icCube 4.1 is backward compatible with 4.0.1. Web reports are migrated to a new format; so 4.1 reports are not compatible with 4.0 anymore. The default data directory of 4.0 (i.e., ~/icCube-4.0) is used, see below for further details.

Installation Reminder

Different versions of icCube can be installed side-by-side on the same machine and no file will be removed during the installation of a new version.

The main two directories mentioned in this page are:

  • the installation directory (referred to $install hereafter) : this is where the icCube binaries are installed,
  • the application directory (referred to $app hereafter) : this is the place where a running instance of icCube server is storing its data (e.g., users, roles, cubes, etc...). On startup of icCube this directory (if not existing) is created and initialized with the content of the $install directory.

Data Directory (~/icCube-4.0)

By default (i.e., using icCube.xml default values), this version is reusing the ~/icCube-4.0 directory. We advise you to backup this directory before proceeding with the installation.

Launcher (icCube.bat / icCube.sh / icCube.ini)

The default maximum memory (-Xmx option) allocated to the JVM is 512m (see icCube.bat, icCube.sh or icCube.ini) and the classpath has been updated to use the latest Joda Time (2.2) library.

Configuration (icCube.xml)

JAVA / R are turned off by default (see icCube.xml). See icCubeProperties property _ javaMdxActive _ and user defined property _ r.active _.
